UC WORKERS HOLD SIT-INS ACROSS THE STATE AND MAJOR RALLY IN SACRAMENTO AS THE LARGEST STRIKE IN THE NATION ENTERS ITS FOURTH WEEK

Frontline workers at the University of California will escalate their actions across the state on Monday as the nation’s largest strike enters its fourth week. Academic Workers on nearly every campus are taking actions including sit-ins and marches, and a large rally in Sacramento with legislative allies. Press is welcome to attend.

Workers across the state are escalating their fight and demanding that UC improve their offer to better reflect the value of our contributions.

“Our goal is to make UC a more just, equitable place to work, and we’re not willing to let UC call it quits before we’ve made further progress toward that goal,” said Rafael Jaime, President of UAW Local 2865. “The leaders of this University need to ensure that negotiations continue so that we can reach fair agreements and return to teaching and research with dignified wages and working conditions. The strike continues.”
